Project Wedding: Happy Preps!

Hi guys! Welcome back to my page. Before anything else, belated Happy 2018 and advance Happy Valentine's Day to everyone, single or taken. 😊

As usual this is a late post. I don't want to explain more but you've guessed it, I'm bu8sy and lazy at the same time. As the title implies, this is about me and hubby getting hitched. Yes, this has been long overdue but God is good, he brings us to this point where everything has fallen into place.

Side story, we just decided to tie the knot last year. We checked the venues for the dates but they were already booked. The date that we liked was already taken too so we moved it to the nearest date available. The month that we chose was good since there is only slight chance of rain plus we have one full year to prepare.

I don't have a dream wedding cos it's just for the little girls, I'm old enough for fairy tales. Plus i'm more on the practical side. I just wanted to have a simple civil wedding together with our closest family and friends. But hubby has something on his mind. He said he wanted a wedding that I deserve. What kind of a wedding would that be?

We've been cohabiting for quite sometime now and I could say that our life together is blessed like other marriages. We've been through highs and lows yet still rocking it. We are still in love with each other and i guess that's what really matters than having a pretty wedding. But hubby asked "What if we can have both?". It isn't bad to have both though. So I just let hubby decide for our wedding. 😉

After a week we have already booked our major suppliers. Thank God for forums anx groups we got to find the best suppliers for our budget. Speaking of which, here are some of the things that you may want to consider before tying the knot.

1. Date - This is the starting point of your wedding preps. It can be a date that is close to your heart like Anniversary, your birthdays or someone important, Christmas (para may 13th month, bonus) etc.

2. Budget - This is the most crucial part of the wedding preps. Once you set your budget, you can now decide your venue, number of guests, your gown/ suit down to the tiniest things. Here you can filter which one is important and which is just good-to-haves. You can look for good suppliers yet working around your budget.

3. Ceremony and Reception - Now that you have decided your budget, you can now go and scout for the Church and reception that you like. Note that for a Catholic wedding rates can be as low as 5k and high as 25k. And for the reception there is 10k for a simple hall that can only be used for 6 to 8 hrs.

4. Caterer & Number of guests - self explanatory. Some caterers charge per plate or per head. So you better be smart in getting a caterer and inviting guests.

5. Bridal Gown/ Suit/ Rings / Florists / Photogtapher/ Lights and sounds...and the list goes on...

If you're eyeing for a simple wedding, you can just  leave nos.4 and 5 and it's ok. Most of Bride-to-bes say "Your Wedding, Your Rules". Every wedding is different, it is special and so is Marriage. You create your own and live your own.

That's it for now, thank you for reading this post. If you want to know more about our wedding preps or if you are also a Bride-toBe follow me on my ig account: iluvdarkpink2 and youtube: iluvdarkpink for some updates.
