Food Trip: Dampa Macapagal

For me and hubby, off day automatically means family day. We love to spend quality time with JP at home watching TV, playing, cooking or just simply sleeping the whole day...together. We also love to go out for a walk in a park, stroll at the mall and have some food trip.

Last week, we made time to hang out with my parents and mother-in-law. The original plan was to go to PICC early in the afternoon but unfortunately it rained hard and so we decided to pushed off around 5pm.

Marketing 101

Dampa is known for "Paluto" restaurants wherein you will need to buy raw seafoods / meat and have it "Paluto" at your chosen restaurant, of course with cooking charges. Since it was a weeknight and rained, there were only few people shopping in their Talipapa. Hubby and I were delighted to see fresh fish, shrimp, crabs, lobsters and other crustacean and seashells.

The best tip we can give is of course, to haggle. Most stalls are selling the same yet their prices differs from Php 20 to 50 bucks.

What we got:

  • 1 kg Swahe - Php 400
  • 1 kg Tahong-          90
  • 1/2 kg Pusit-          100
  • 1 Big Bangus-        150
  • 2 pcs liempo-         120

Paluto Time

We don't have any idea on which restaurant cooks the best so we asked kuya vendor which he can recommend. Kuya instantly answered "Shyril" which is just in front of us. So hubby jokingly said "Kuya baka sanyo naman po iyan." Kuya vendor replied "Hindi po, tinatanong nyo po kasi ako kung saan masarap, kaya sinagot ko po." Bitchy approach but funny, he has a point. :D Since there were a lot of diners and it was raining a bit, we just gave it a go.

*Baked Tahong*

*Inihaw na Bangus*

Happy Tummy, Happy Pocket

We were amazed that everything was soooo yummy. The Sinigang tastes fruity as it should be. The buttered shrimps tastes delicious with the hint of "Sprite" in it. Adobong pusit was heaven. Baked tahong was simply mouth watering. Inihaw na liempo was terrific too. We finished 3 bowls of rice and wanted some more! Although the Bangus was served late, it was good. It was a feast!

After everyone was satisfied, we were ready for bill out.

Paluto Service -          Php 680 (disc from 720)
Bowl of rice- 100 x 3         300
Soda-                                 100
Chips delight-                        60
=                                       1140

It was indeed way cheaper than going to a typical restaurant. For Php 2000 we had a filling seafood party for less. Not to mention we also had food to go since we couldn't finish everything in one sitting.

*All Smiles*

*Good food for less + Wifi*
The experience was great and we will definitely be back.. soon. It's gonna be my MIL's birthday this month so "alam na". I'm excited!

Cheers!
