JP's 8th Birthday

Time flies, its my son's Birthday once again. It has been another fruitful year for our baby boy, JP. He has grown a little taller, older and more handsome than last year. I praise God for giving me this wonderful gift, motherhood.

Early on I asked JP how does he want to celebrate his birthday. He told me that he wanted to have a party like we used to do. He wanted to have a Shakey's birthday party this year so I tried searching the net about the preparations and of course the cost. These days, birthday party means having a nice cake, balloon arrangements, Photo booths, clowns and dessert corner etc. We listed our guests and it seemed that it will be over 70 pax., Just the thought of it, it means that we need to shell out some hard earned bucks for a 2-hour celebration. These days of uncertainty, we cannot afford throwing a party like that so I asked my son again for his ideal celebration if we cannot give him his Plan A, he answered quickly and said that he'd like to buy new Hot Wheels and eat out. I was relived to know that my son is not easy to please.

We ended up planning for a quick road trip. Since we haven't been to Sky Ranch yet, I thought that would be the best alternative. JP was so surprised that he even made a count down til his big day.

Came yesterday, we pushed off around 8am and arrived Nuvali just a little around 9am. JP was so excited to feed the fish. He still gets the thrills as if it is his first time. We also took the boat ride and all of us enjoyed the short cruise.

JP and ate Khairina, happy kids

We had our lunch at Mahogany Market where foods are way cheaper than any other restaurants in Tagaytay. The kids had McDonald's while us adults enjoyed our simple feast.

After our filling meal, we went shopping for fresh meat and some fruits and veggies.

We then pushed to the much awaited Sky Ranch. The kids were really excited to go for the rides.

The kids were really tired of pictures and wanted to try the rides right away.

Good thing we brought extra clothes for the kids.

Happy family on JPs happy birthday

To wrap the our day we  decided to surprise him for dinner. Since his first plan was to celebrate his birthday at Shakey's, we just had our dinner there. We ordered the monster deal. We got 2 pan pizzas of our choice, 1 red spaghetti, 1 carbonarra, Chix n Chips pack, garlic bread and 3 pitchers of soda of our choice as well.

Make a wish now JP.

Happiest Boy on his birthday.,
During dinner we asked JP if he had fun on his birthday, he answered us with so much joy "I had a blast mom and dad!, thank you, I love you." Though we didn't give him the party that he wanted, we managed to come up with something we know he can enjoy. Seeing our son happy, makes our hearts melt. It is normal to give our kids wants (especially on their special day) but if the budget does not permit, why not find alternatives that your kids will enjoy.

Here's the breakdown of our expenses:

Gas- Php  1300
Toll-           350
Boat ride-   300
Fish feeds-   30
Lunch-      1000
Sky Ranch Entrance- 400 (50/pax)
Rides-       1000 (varies per ride /some 50 and 100)
Shakey's monster meal - 2300 (less 10% with shakeys card)

Total- Php 6680 (excluding shopping and other snacks of course)

Xoxo
